Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Data Reporting Lead Analyst to support the Markets Technology PMO organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and presenting Book of Work data to provide clear, actionable insights into project portfolios, status, and performance. This role requires a strong blend of data expertise, development knowledge, and an understanding of project management principles to create customized views that drive informed decision-making within the PMO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze existing project data feeds, databases, and reports to understand the available Book of Work information, including project status, resource allocation, budget vs. actuals, timelines, risks, and issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with PMO leadership, project managers, and other stakeholders to define reporting requirements and understand key performance indicators (KPIs) for project portfolios.
  • Custom Report Development: Design, develop, and implement customized reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that provide a comprehensive and digestible view of the Book of Work data.
  • Technical Implementation: Utilize development knowledge (e.g., advanced SQL, scripting languages like Python, API integrations) to extract, cleanse, transform, and aggregate data from various project management systems and data sources.
  • Data Integrity & Validation: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all project-related data used in reports and analyses. Perform rigorous testing and validation of reports.
  • Reporting Infrastructure Management: Maintain and optimize existing PMO reporting tools and solutions, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting processes, and enhance data quality within the PMO.
  • User Support & Training: Provide guidance and training to PMO team members and project managers on how to effectively use and interpret generated reports and dashboards.
  • Trend Analysis: Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and critical insights within the Book of Work data to highlight potential risks or areas for improvement.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all reports, data sources, methodologies, and technical specifications.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Project Management, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in a reporting, data analysis, or business intelligence role, with significant exposure to or direct experience supporting a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, manipulation, and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, advanced Excel reporting).
  • Solid understanding of project management concepts, lifecycles, and common PMO metrics.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing principles.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical data insights into business language for various audiences.


Desired Skills
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Planview, Clarity PPM).
  • Experience with Citi PM applications is a plus
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for data automation and custom integration.
  • Familiarity with API integration for connecting different project management tools and data sources.
  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or other project methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple urgent requests in a fast-paced environment.
