Full Job Description

SUMMARY

The Data Scientist IV is responsible for analyzing complex datasets to extract valuable insights and drive informed decision-making. The Data Scientist will utilize statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and programming skills to clean, organize, and interpret data. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, develop data-driven solutions, and communicate findings effectively.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess appropriate level of certifications for this position as required by the contract.

Demonstrated experience constructing and managing research datasets in compliance with comparable federal security requirements.

Experience with de-identification of sensitive data and secure storage and transfer mechanisms

Familiarity with qualitative data structures and codebook formatting preferred.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Develops and maintains the project data management plan, including secure storage, transfer, retention, and destruction procedures.

Establishes encrypted, storage, and transfer mechanisms for recordings and transcripts.

Constructs de-identified, FISMA-compliant datasets organized by site, with data user's manuals, in CDC-requested formats.

Manages de-identification processes and the custody of identification keys.

Formats codebooks and coded datasets for delivery and long-term usability.

Coordinates with the Qualitative Research Analyst on dataset construction and with the Regulatory Affairs Specialist on data security compliance.

Supports incident response and PII safeguarding procedures in accordance with contract requirements.

Ensures data retention and closeout destruction consistent with the data security plan.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and seven to nine (7-9) years related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The estimated pay range for this role is $113K to $120K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
