Full Job Description
The Data Management Professional - Production Operations is the subject matter resource for Devon's well production, job, cost, measurement and hierarchy data. It authors data quality rules and enables the business to follow exceptions through to remediation, and it integrates acquired asset data during merger and divestiture activity. The role is the data bridge between field operations, Production Engineering, Production Accounting, and Data Engineering, and it is the subject matter expert on the curated production datasets in Devon's enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake) and their lineage. It manages multiple projects of moderate complexity. • Serves as the subject matter expert on the well production, jobs, cost, and measurement data • Stewards enterprise production data (daily and monthly volumes, allocation, downtime, and metering) • Stewards workover job and cost data (activity and equipment records, AFEs, work orders, and operating expense allocation) • Stewards enterprise operational hierarchy assignments, and acts as a resource to software developers for enhancements to Operational Hierarchy tools, dataflows, and processes • Authors and maintains data quality rules with Production Engineering, Production Accounting, Measurement, and field operations, defining business rules, scope, priority, and ownership of exception resolution. • Monitors conformance to enterprise data standards and governance policies • Defines the business requirements, rules, and acceptance criteria for curated datasets published in Devon's enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake), and maintains their definitions, lineage, and steward documentation in the enterprise data catalog (Alation.) • Participates in data integration for merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity, including source-to-target mapping of critical production operations data types. • Uses tools such as WellView, ProdView, FLOWCAL, SAP, Snowflake, Alation, and BI platforms (Power BI, Spotfire, Sigma) to investigate and reconcile data across source systems and Devon's enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake). • Communicates data processes, policies, definitions, and roles, and owns change communication to the user community for the datasets in scope. • Supports training and onboarding, delivering data literacy sessions and partnering with business unit technicians to improve data entry accuracy and use of corporate reports. Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Administration, Petroleum/Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience. Experience: • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P operations, such as data or systems analysis, data management, data governance, production operations, production/revenue accounting, software development, or business analysis. Industry experience preferred. • Hands-on experience with production job and cost datasets and with operational hierarchy and master data structures preferred. • Experience integrating acquired asset data following merger or acquisition activity preferred.
