About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Director to join the Chief Data Office (CDO) Data Strategy & Execution team. This team drives the enterprise data strategy, providing alignment across all CDO groups to achieve enterprise objectives. This role is responsible for effectively managing teams to drive execution and fostering cross-functional collaboration to deliver on outcomes, promote sustainable growth, and create stakeholder value.

This role will lead execution of critical priorities across teams and enterprise data capabilities. This includes defining and establishing the long-term strategic direction for the Chief Data Office (CDO), ensuring full alignment with key strategies and policies (Enterprise Data Strategy, Technology Strategy, Data Management Policy and Procedures, etc.), and developing short- and long-term success metrics that span all CDO functions.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the execution of multiple high-impact, time-sensitive priorities with a strategic lens-simplifying complex issues and driving clear connectivity across CDO initiatives to enable informed decision-making and enterprise-wide alignment.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives and execute tactical solutions across multiple lines of business.
  • Demonstrate strong sense of accountability and manage teams to drive the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in depth evaluation and cross channel collaboration.
  • Define and deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking.
  • Execute special initiatives, engagement related activities, and ad-hoc operational requests from executive leadership.
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development while effectively managing teams to meet business objectives and strategy.


Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience.

  • Strategic mindset and the ability to lead teams to solve and execute solutions for complex problems.
  • Dynamic, self-driven, and results oriented with a strong sense of prioritization, execution and urgency that can operate in a highly complex organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams through transformational change.
  • Extensive experience in data and/or technology leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategies at scale aligned with business objectives.
  • Experience leading significant Transformation programs within large matrixed organizations, including simplification efforts.
  • Able to rapidly pivot and lead emerging high-priority initiatives.
  • Experience in successfully leading multiple complex strategic programs/projects through project lifecycle from conception through roll-out and ongoing support in a large organization.
  • Understanding of data management and governance, data strategy, or data technology within the financial services sector.


Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work at a designated Wells Fargo location in accordance with the enterprise hybrid work model.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-15% as needed to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
