Full Job Description
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, infrastructure, and data visualization to support our data-driven decision-making processes. The scope of this job includes collaborating with data scientists, analysts, solutions partners, and other stakeholders to increase data quality, accessibility, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize robust, scalable data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, and Cloud Composer(or airflow). Ensure data pipelines are efficient, reliable, and meet business needs.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and other data storage solutions, primarily leveraging BigQuery and Cloud Storage for data warehousing needs. Ensure solutions are scalable and high-performance.
  • Integrate data from various sources, including APIs, flat files, databases, and other external systems, into cloud-based data solutions. Manage ETL processes to ensure smooth data flow across systems.
  • Apply best practices in dimensional data modeling, schema design, and ETL processes to ensure efficient data retrieval, storage, and analytics.
  • Work closely with internal teams, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data needs, deliver actionable insights, and provide timely updates. Communicate effectively regarding project timelines and deliverables.
  • Work with Snowflake for managing data warehouses, optimizing performance, and ensuring efficient querying and data loading processes.
  • Adhere to WellSky core values, ensure PHI data security, and adapt to changing BI technologies.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2-4 years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process oriented with great documentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
  • 2+ years of Python or Java development experience
  • Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience developing and supporting data pipelines and data warehouse solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
  • Design and implement data pipelines using GCP services such as Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, Cloud Composer
  • Build and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and other data storage solutions using GCP technologies like BigQuery and Cloud Storage
  • Integrate data from various sources such as APIs, flat files, and databases
  • Healthcare industry experience
