About the Role:

Join our growing data team at Green River as a Data Engineer. This role will support projects that matter by designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and workflows to support critical business operations and data-driven decision-making. Your work will involve collaboration with other disciplines to come up with innovative solutions that maximize the impact of our projects, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards. Creative problem solving abilities are a must, and you should be comfortable with a trial-and-error approach.

  • Design, build, maintain, and support reliable, production-grade data pipelines
  • Develop reusable modules, frameworks, and pipeline components that enable scalable and maintainable data solutions
  • Understand, maintain, and safely modernize inherited data systems and infrastructure
  • Leverage agentic AI tools to improve the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of their work
  • Produce clear, robust documentation that supports maintainability, team collaboration, and knowledge sharing
  • Adhere to company engineering standards and best practices, with particular attention to data privacy, security, consistency, and compliance
  • Estimate and anticipate the infrastructure and operational costs associated with developing, deploying, and maintaining data systems
  • Collaborate effectively across disciplines, including with technical project managers, software engineers, data scientists, DevOps engineers, privacy and security teams, and business development teams
  • Communicate technical concepts, findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, and contribute to technical discovery and solution design
  • Mentor and support other technical staff, enabling them to contribute effectively to data infrastructure and engineering initiatives.


Desired skills and experience:

  • Pipeline architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and pipeline development.
  • Strong SQL skills and programming and software experience in a production setting (Python / Go preferred).
  • Strong proficiency with containerized deployments in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to gather requirements, perform root cause analysis and present deliverables to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities through established practices and patterns in a manner that results in the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as dbt.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Experience integrating with business intelligence/analytics platforms such as Apache Superset.
  • Experience in data analysis or quantitative research.
  • Demonstrable deployment of agentic AI workflows to solve engineering problems.
  • Experience designing, deploying and maintaining real or near-real-time streaming or CDC solutions.
  • Monitoring health of deployed pipelines - e.g. alerts, actionable data quality checks, etc.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience.
