POSITION SUMMARYThe Data Center Site Manager (DCSM) is responsible for overseeing all facility operations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems within a mission-critical data center environment. This role serves as the primary technical and operational leader onsite, supporting maintenance, incident response, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve and sustain 99.999% uptime. The DCSM collaborates with engineering teams, vendors, and leadership while managing daily operations, staffing, and site performance.
RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Team Management- Lead, manage, and develop a team of engineering and technical personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee staffing, workload distribution, and shift coverage across all operations.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, compensation, and personnel management.
Operational Oversight- Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
- Manage preventive maintenance, corrective work, and emergency response activities.
- Ensure peak efficiency of mission-critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, HVAC, etc.).
- Conduct inspections of building systems and maintain clean, safe operating conditions.
- Manage work orders, track completion, and verify quality of work performed.
- Lead incident response, investigations, and resolution of facility issues.
- Oversee vendor activity and evaluate contractor performance.
Project & Technical Management- Manage multiple complex projects and site initiatives simultaneously.
- Analyze technical documentation (AutoCAD, Visio) and interpret system designs.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
- Conduct audits of maintenance procedures and change management processes.
- Review drawings and perform site surveys to assess system operations.
- Propose and implement operational improvements and client solutions.
- Track and report operational metrics, site performance, and efficiency.
Financial & Administrative Management- Manage site budgets, expenses, and financial tracking.
- Support cost estimation for installations and capital projects.
- Coordinate payments, invoicing, and financial processes.
- Assist in developing operating standards, procedures, and documentation.
Client & Stakeholder Management- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility operations.
- Build relationships with clients, property management, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal business units to ensure service delivery.
- Provide reporting, presentations, and communication on site performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum 3+ years of experience in data center operations or critical facility environments.
- High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, or refrigeration systems (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong technical knowledge of data center systems, including:
- Generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs
- Chillers, AHUs, CRAC units, cooling systems
- Building automation and control systems
- Experience with maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and system operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and observational skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety of temperatures inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required

Compensation & Benefits DisclosureThe base salary range for this role is $85,000-$131,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location.
