About the jobAs the Area Lead, you will manage a geographically distributed team of talented electrical, cooling, and controls technicians, plant engineers, facility managers, and program managers who are responsible for the operational health and efficiency of Google's Data Centers.
You will need a combination of technical depth, management expertise, and leadership to develop, support, and guide multiple operations teams across a geographic area. You will bring knowledge of managing through change, and experience setting and delivering strategies in a rapidly changing environment. You will be a manager of managers, responsible for the team's performance, well-being, and career development, execution against KPIs, use and of existing tools and systems, and collaboratively defining future processes, systems, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Oversee the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with managing site-level development of programs and initiatives.
- Incorporate domain expertise and experience to deliver an improved data center design to optimize equipment and operations for next generation data centers.
- Lead the strategy and ongoing operation of Google's growing portfolio of data centers within the area
- Lead the electrical and cooling infrastructure operations of the data center campuses within the area.
- Drive new greenfield site turn-up within the area including hiring, coaching, and team building.
