Chief Engineer - Data CenterPosition Overview The Chief Engineer - Data Center is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the data center. This role focuses on ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of critical infrastructure, while also leading a team of engineers and technicians to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the data center facilities including HVAC, fire suppression systems, and electrical distribution.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance and repair of chillers, UPS systems, and generators to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to enhance performance and sustainability of data center operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing training and support to foster professional development.
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, preparing reports for senior management regarding efficiency and reliability issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, particularly concerning fire safety and electrical systems.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a data center environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression systems, chillers, electrical distribution panels, UPS systems, and generators.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and demands.
