o Perform electrical load calculations and power utilization analysis.
o Develop and evaluate electrical capacity requirements for AI/HPC deployments, including high-density GPU environments, rack-level power requirements, power density, distribution architecture, and scalability requirements.
o Evaluate infrastructure resiliency, redundancy, and operational risk associated with capacity expansion initiatives, providing guidance and recommendations
• Engineering & Technical Oversight
o Define critical electrical equipment specifications and make product recommendations
o Develop and review electrical designs, modifications, and infrastructure improvements within operational data center environments.
o Review and approve electrical equipment submittals, technical documentation, and infrastructure standards.
• Operational Support & Commissioning
o Support construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities associated with electrical infrastructure projects.
o Partner with commissioning teams to validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
o Support maintenance planning and operational readiness activities for critical electrical infrastructure.
o Participate in incident response, infrastructure risk reviews, and operational reliability initiatives.
o Assist operations teams in troubleshooting equipment failures and anomalies.
• Compliance & Standards
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
o Maintain adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and mission-critical operational standards.
o Support development and continuous improvement of electrical engineering standards, procedures, and best practices within our data centers.
• Innovation & Technical Strategy
o Research and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and infrastructure solutions related to data center electrical systems.
o Evaluate emerging AI/HPC hardware and deployment architectures to determine their impact on electrical distribution, power density, capacity, resiliency, and future data center infrastructure requirements.
