About your role:As a Data Architecture, Advisor I, you will lead enterprise data architecture and stewardship activities that strengthen data quality, lineage, governance, and reuse across the data landscape. You will work closely with software engineering, delivery, product, and business teams to maintain trusted data assets, improve reporting posture, and support informed decision-making. This role matters because it helps establish a consistent, traceable, and well-governed foundation for business and technology outcomes.
What you'll do:- Build, maintain, and continuously improve an enterprise data catalog that is searchable, visually organized, and supported by robust metadata and attribute-level end-to-end lineage.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide data dictionary and business glossary aligned to data assets, business definitions, and approved standards.
- Partner with Data Stewards, software engineering teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to define, classify, trace, and protect data at rest and in motion.
- Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and data integrity standards across the data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, provisioning, and discovery.
- Analyze end-to-end data flows, transformations, dependencies, and lineage to support delivery, release, and change management activities.
- Create clear business definitions, source-to-target mappings, and process mappings for complex enterprise data flows and transformations.
- Build and support metadata ingestion interfaces from files, databases, application programming interfaces, microservices, business intelligence and analytics tools, and data modeling tools.
- Use Structured Query Language, Python, Java, and automation techniques to profile data, assess quality, support governance controls, and integrate with cataloging platforms such as Alation.
Experience you'll need to have:- 12+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, data architecture, or related data management disciplines across data architecture, modeling, standardization, classification, protection, and lineage.
- 10+ years of experience in data analysis and data profiling within the financial services industry, including card processing or similar payment environments.
- 5+ years of experience using enterprise data catalog tools to manage metadata, business glossary content, lineage, and searchable data assets.
- 8+ years of experience using Structured Query Language across databases such as DB2, Yugabyte, Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, or similar database technologies.
- 5+ years of experience using Python scripting and automation to profile data, establish standards, enforce governance controls, or integrate metadata across platforms.
- 3+ years of experience using Java and application programming interface specifications and data formats such as Swagger, YAML, JavaScript Object Notation schema, or similar technologies to build interfaces for metadata ingestion and integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
- 1+ years of Fiserv systems experience.
Experience that would be great to have:- Experience supporting healthcare industry data, business models, or governance practices.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Cognos, or Power BI.
- Experience with data warehousing methodologies such as Ralph Kimball, Bill Inmon, The Open Group Architecture Framework, or Zachman Framework.
- Six Sigma certification or experience applying Lean, Kaizen, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control, Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer, or Just-in-Time methodologies.
How you'll work:- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Salary Range$110,000.00 - $186,000.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
