Job DescriptionData Analytics & Visualization EngineerPrimary Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that address operational and business questions.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Kibana as the primary tool, applying strong UI/visual design principles (hierarchy, color theory, accessibility, etc.).
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations and present them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, operational challenges, and data requirements.
- Build and maintain data transformation pipelines, self-service analytics tools, and reusable data assets.
- Document data models, business logic, transformation processes, and analytics workflows.
- Work closely with data engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, high-impact data solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for analysis and visualization.
- Proficiency with additional visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana.
- Experience building self-service analytics solutions and reusable data assets.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, AWS GovCloud) and big data technologies.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and DoD/DISA environments (DISA experience is a plus).
- Understanding of network devices, routing, and configurations.
- Experience with text mining, summarization, search, and entity extraction using the ELK Stack.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD practices, DevOps methodologies, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong Agile experience (Scrum, SAFe) with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working remotely with geographically dispersed teams.
