Job Summary

As a Data Analytics Engineer at John W. Danforth Company, you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics-ready datasets. In this role, you will partner closely with analytics, IT, and business teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and accessible data solutions that support reporting and advanced analytics initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to support scalable data processing and integration across systems.
• Integrate data from internal and external sources while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and availability.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, including analytics-ready data layers for reporting and insights.
• Deliver clean, reliable datasets that enable self-service analytics and support business intelligence tools.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring to ensure data integrity.
• Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, lineage, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Optimize data pipelines, queries, and storage solutions to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, provide enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications
• 3-7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling concepts and techniques.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling).
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Spark, or similar.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $80,000-$110,000

Other Compensation: Bonus eligible
