Full Job Description
We are searching for a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Analyst to apply their data skills to support the execution and growth of educational programs. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, transforming, processing, and querying our programmatic datasets to ensure our day-to-day data operations flow seamlessly and reliably. You will also play a critical role in stewarding and using our data to drive operational insights and improvements. The Data Analyst will have the opportunity to collaborate with program, data, and engineering team members across other departments. In addition to analytical skills, this position has a strong focus on rigor, attention to detail, effective communications, and proactive project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate Data Execution: Execute accurate, highly reliable, and efficient data operations related to our high school student outreach and the National College Match.
  • Rigorous Attention to Detail: Meticulously review, test, and audit data work (queries, code, models, etc.) to ensure integrity and statistical validity.
  • Data and Process Documentation: Create, maintain, and audit documentation of QuestBridge data and data processes.
  • In-depth Data Understanding: Cultivate a detailed understanding of QuestBridge data to steward and connect raw datasets to increase programmatic efficiency and impact.
  • Tech-enabled Efficiency: Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively implement workflows, using modern technology tools to automate and increase consistency and efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Support: Act as a versatile analytical resource, supporting data-related operational tasks and ad-hoc requests across the organization.
  • Support other organizational projects, tasks, and goals as needed and as assigned.
  • With other QuestBridge staff, annually read and evaluate student applications for major programs and other opportunities.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of full-time experience in Data Analytics.
  • Analytical Rigor: A track record of applying analytical thinking to program management, identify data-driven insights, and solve complex operational problems.
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following:
    • SQL, Tableau: Utilizing knowledge of relational databases and data schemas to write precise queries, validate data pipelines, and build accurate, high-fidelity dashboards.
    • Python, R: Scripting for automating data cleaning, and analyses.
    • Git: Version control and collaborative code management.
    • Statistics: Applying statistical foundations to analyze datasets and validate hypotheses.
  • Track record of detail-oriented data work: An obsessive eye for detail, ensuring dataset integrity, script formatting, and reports are accurate before they reach stakeholders.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to organize bandwidth, prioritize deliverables, and independently manage multiple data projects from concept to on-time execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to incorporate feedback and translate technical knowledge for ease of understanding.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or another quantitative field or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with data in the education sector.
  • Track record of high-fidelity, detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience and skills for the position. The range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000.

Hours and Location

This is a regular, full-time, remote position and can be based anywhere in the United States. Employees will be expected to be engaged online and travel when necessary. Travel may include up to 2-4 times per year for internal and external organizational events.
