Full Job Description
The Role:

Modern Health is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Analytics team. The role reports into our Manager of Data Analytics and will work cross-functionally with our Go-To-Market (GTM), Clinical Strategy, and Finance teams as an embedded partner for all things data. This role is eligible for remote work within the USA, excluding Hawaii.

In this role, you will:
  1. Own and expand client-facing reporting to help our customers understand the clinical and business value of their investment in Modern Health
  2. Build and maintain the data foundation that powers our analytics - including dbt models, metric definitions, and the pipelines that keep our data reliable
  3. Support our clinical analytics workstreams, including outcomes reporting, ROI analyses, and compliance-related data work
  4. Partner with stakeholders across Clinical Strategy, Customer Success, Finance, and RevOps to surface insights, build reliable reporting, and help the organization make better data-driven decisions

We would love to hear from you if you have a genuine interest in health data and outcomes, are energized by turning complex data into clear and actionable insights, and are excited to grow your skills in a high-impact, mission-driven analytics team.
What You'll Do:
  • Own and expand client-facing reporting; simplify our data to allow Customer Success teams and clients to visualize the complete member journey and understand the value of their investment in Modern Health
  • Develop and sustain our dbt codebase using SQL; write modular, well-tested models that serve as the single source of truth for key business and clinical metrics
  • Identify which metrics matter and how to measure them, implement those definitions in our data warehouse, and report on them via our BI tool
  • Partner with Data Engineering to improve our data platform and advocate for upstream data quality
  • Conduct analyses using SQL and translate results into clear, actionable recommendations for clinical, GTM, and product stakeholders
  • Partner with senior analytics team members on strategic analyses - framing the problem, performing the analysis, and recommending action
  • Build data sources and dashboards that empower stakeholders to understand the data that matters most to them and make informed decisions
  • Manage ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams - Clinical Strategy, Finance, RevOps, CS, and Sales - and identify patterns in requests as inputs to future automation and self-service tooling
  • Support clinical analytics workstreams including ROI and Value-of-Investment (VOI) performance guarantee analyses, clinical outcomes reporting, and compliance-related data work
  • Guarantee the reliability of your work through rigorous self-review, code review, and testing practices
Who You Are/ Role Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, ideally with exposure to healthcare, health tech, or a clinical setting
  • Proficient in SQL, Python or R, dbt, statistical data analysis, and data visualization
  • High EQ, strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including comfort interfacing with internal leadership
  • Experience with BI tooling (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Omni, or similar)
  • Genuine curiosity about clinical data - you find health outcomes, member behavior, and population-level trends intrinsically interesting
  • Comfortable working with messy, ambiguous data and capable of clearly communicating limitations and assumptions in your analyses
  • Ability to drive execution and demonstrated interest in strategic thinking
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Solution-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analyses concisely to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven success partnering with and explaining data and analytics concepts to non-technical team members at varying levels of seniority
  • Passionate about the mental health space
  • Humble, scrappy, highly motivated, and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be able to maintain work authorization for the duration of employment without employer sponsorship or employer-provided training plans or attestations (including, for example, the Form I-983 required for STEM OPT).
Bonus Points
  • Have a Master's degree in a health or analytical related field
  • Experience in a digital health setting
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks (e.g., Knox Keene, HIPAA)
  • High-growth startup experience
  • Experience developing external-facing client reporting
