The Data Analyst I supports data extraction, management, quality assurance, statistical analysis, and evaluation activities for THEEB. The position performs quantitative and qualitative analyses; develops and maintains analytic datasets; supports data cleaning, validation, harmonization, and documentation; and contributes to analyses of program implementation, reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation, and outcomes. The position supports DPRP, ADA/ADCES, APR, performance measurement, and national-level data activities and contributes to technical memoranda, tables, figures, reports, and presentations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
• Knowledge of public health research and evaluation principles, concepts, methods, and techniques.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods and their application to public health program evaluation.
• Ability to conduct analytical studies and interpret findings to support program evaluation and improvement.
• Experience working with implementation-related measures such as reach, fidelity, dose, and adaptation.
• Experience analyzing and integrating qualitative and quantitative data.
• Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly in written and oral formats.
• Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles governing intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Ability to use and manage administrative systems, including Human Subjects, OMB, IRB, and E-Clearance.
• Previous experience working with government procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to successfully complete any government-required background investigation or security clearance, if applicable to the task order.

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
• Ability to perform complex analytical studies (qualitative and quantitative analysis) and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of programs and recommend improvements.
• Experience working with implementation-related measures (e.g., reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and linking implementation variables to outcomes.
• Experience analyzing mixed-methods data (e.g., qualitative and quantitative integration).
• Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the agency, and assigned program or project areas, provide guidance, and advise program administrators and members of the community, respond to inquiries, and interact with high level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations.
• Knowledge of the rules, procedures and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to use and manage CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.
• Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, data science, health informatics, or a related field is recommended for this position, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public health research, evaluation, data analysis, or data management.

The estimated pay range for this role is $53,600 to $110,000 with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
