The opportunity:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensures the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system supports business processes effectively and operates reliably. The role translates business needs into practical system configuration and support outcomes across D365 Finance and Operations, Project Operations, and Customer Engagement. The position provides functional expertise, resolves level-two support issues, supports change and release activities, and maintains the documentation needed for sustainable ERP operations following implementation.

What you'll do:

System and Process Translation
  • Analyzes business requirements and provides application expertise to align D365 capabilities with Finance, Project Management and Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, and project delivery processes.
  • Translates business process needs into functional designs, configuration options, functional design documents, and supportable ERP practices.

Issue Diagnosis and Resolution (Level 2)
  • Investigates and resolves functional issues escalated from first-level support, including process, configuration, workflow, security-role, and data-related concerns.
  • Reproduces issues in sandbox environments to validate root cause, test corrective actions, and reduce production risk.

Configuration and Continuous Improvement
  • Maintains functional configuration including workflows, parameters, rules, security-relevant settings, and related system controls within assigned functional areas.
  • Supports post-implementation sustainment by validating configuration, aligning processes to standard functionality, and reducing unnecessary customization where practical.

Change and Release Support
  • Assesses the functional and cross-process impact of proposed changes across D365 Finance and Operations, Project Operations, Customer Engagement, integrations, reporting, and downstream processes.
  • Prepares change documentation, configuration notes, release readiness materials, and implementation support materials.

Knowledge, Documentation and Stakeholder
  • Creates and maintains runbooks, support procedures, configuration documentation, user guidance, process documentation, and knowledge articles for assigned functional areas.
  • Contributes to a known error database and repeatable support practices that improve service consistency and reduce reliance on individual knowledge.

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education, business process experience, D365 application experience, and ERP sustainment experience will be considered.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations training or certification is preferred.
  • Training or practical exposure in finance concepts, project accounting, financial controls, process analysis, change management, testing, or business analysis is an asset.
  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, including functional support, configuration, implementation, enhancement, or sustainment activities.
  • Knowledge of one or more D365 Finance and Operations functional areas such as Finance, Project Management and Accounting, Human Resources, Procurement, workflow, approvals, or related operational modules.
  • Experience in a post-implementation sustainment environment, including level-two functional support, incident and problem resolution, release support, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and transition from project delivery to business-as-usual operations.
  • Experience working on functional design documents, configuration, process alignment, and process documentation with detailed understanding of finance concepts and general module functionality.
  • Experience performing process analysis, process redesign, fit-gap assessment, documentation, and continuous improvement activities across business and system processes.
  • Experience coordinating with business process owners, functional stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, Microsoft partners, and support teams to resolve issues and implement controlled changes.
  • Working knowledge of ERP finance and operations processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, project accounting, billing, workflow, approvals, and related controls.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional design documents, configuration decisions, process recommendations, test scenarios, and support documentation.
  • Ability to diagnose issues, distinguish between configuration, process, data, integration, reporting, and user adoption causes, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpretive skills, including the ability to explain technical and functional concepts to business and IT audiences.
  • Strong documentation discipline, including runbooks, knowledge articles, configuration notes, known errors, test evidence, and release support materials.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a post-implementation ERP support and sustainment environment.
