Project Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise (COSE) program delivers the enterprise cybersecurity operations, engineering, architecture, risk, and compliance support that safeguards VA systems, data, and mission delivery. The team helps strengthen the cyber resilience of the digital services relied on by Veterans, their families, and the VA workforce.

9th Way Insignia is seeking a Cybersecurity Tools Engineer to support this program. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Professional Level

E3 - Engineer
Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, integrate, and sustain cybersecurity tools that support detection, prevention, vulnerability management, configuration management, and compliance.
• Develop tool implementation plans, configuration standards, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Integrate tool data with security operations, asset-management, ticketing, reporting, and continuous-monitoring processes.
• Analyze tool performance, coverage gaps, alerts, and data quality; recommend improvements.
• Support upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and operational handoff of security-tool capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
• Five or more years of cybersecurity tool engineering, security operations, systems administration, or related technical experience.
• Hands-on experience with one or more tool categories such as SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, identity management, security configuration management, or GRC platforms.
• Experience integrating tools, analyzing security data, and documenting technical configurations and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and technical documentation skills.

Salary Range

$98,135-$125,000 USD
