Job Description:

Cybersecurity Technical Communicator

The Cybersecurity Technical Communicator will support the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). They will combine experience with cybersecurity and technical writing to produce written cybersecurity reports to technical, non-technical, legal, executive and board level audiences.

What You Will Do:
  • Producing clear and concise communications that summarize incident response.
  • Partner closely with CSIRT to ensure incident data is accurately captured and high-quality documentation is maintained.
  • Produce incident reports for a wide group of technical and non-technical audiences such as legal, executive, board level and employees.
  • Create and nurture relationships across the incident response, infrastructure, application, and legal teams.
  • Develop and manage weekly and quarterly reports detailing the critical efforts of the CSIRT.
  • Support the CSIRT Readiness team in developing, delivering and documenting incident response tabletop exercises.

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity software and tools.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional tools.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.


Top Candidates will have:
  • Experience in video production and editing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Communications, or related field.
  • Organizational change management experience.
  • Prior experience in a cybersecurity role.

  • The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN
  • RELOCATION IS NOT AVAILABLE.

  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms.

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
