Aqueduct Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to support our growing cybersecurity practice. This role serves as a trusted, customer-facing technical advisor who helps prospective and existing clients understand cyber risk, evaluate solutions, and define practical strategies to strengthen security posture.
You will work closely with Senior Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Security Operations team members, and other practice leaders to qualify opportunities, lead discovery conversations, shape solution direction, and support customer engagements throughout the sales lifecycle.
In addition to technology-focused opportunities, you will help identify governance, risk, compliance, third-party risk, and broader security program maturity needs that can be addressed through Aqueduct's advisory and GRC services.
This position requires a strong blend of technical depth, business acumen, communication skills, and consultative problem-solving. We're looking for someone who can connect security capabilities to business outcomes and help customers move from challenge to action.
Core ResponsibilitiesCustomer Discovery & Risk Assessment- Conduct cybersecurity-focused discovery sessions with prospective and existing clients.
- Understand customer business objectives, technology environments, security challenges, and risk concerns.
- Identify gaps in security controls, governance, visibility, resilience, and operational maturity.
- Help customers align cybersecurity initiatives to business priorities and practical next steps.
Solution Design & Presales Support- Support Sales teams throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from qualification through solution positioning.
- Develop and present cybersecurity solution recommendations and high-level architectures.
- Assist with RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and technical responses.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and executive briefings.
- Collaborate with consulting and services teams to shape statements of work and scoped recommendations.
Security Advisory & Strategic Engagement- Engage with CISOs, IT leaders, security teams, and business stakeholders.
- Provide guidance across security operations, identity and access management, cloud security, vulnerability management, security monitoring and response, cyber resilience, AI security and governance, third-party risk, and security program maturity initiatives.
GRC Opportunity Development- Identify opportunities related to security assessments, risk assessments, NIST, CIS, ISO, and SOC-aligned initiatives, third-party risk management, security program development, compliance readiness, and broader cybersecurity governance efforts.
- Recognize customer needs that align to Aqueduct's advisory and GRC capabilities and help position those services effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the GRC practice to transition qualified opportunities into advisory engagements.
Internal Collaboration- Partner with Sales teams, Security Operations practice leadership, Managed Services, Professional Services, GRC consultants, and vendor partners to shape customer outcomes and support successful engagements.
- Coordinate with internal subject matter experts to align solution strategy, scope, and delivery expectations.
- Provide market feedback and customer insight to help inform service development and strategic initiatives.
Required Skills & QualificationsExperience- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, security consulting, solution architecture, or technical presales.
- Strong understanding of modern cybersecurity concepts, risks, and technologies.
- Experience leading customer-facing technical discussions, workshops, and presentations.
- Ability to translate technical findings into business outcomes, risk discussions, and actionable recommendations.
Technical FoundationWorking knowledge of several of the following areas:
- Security Operations (SOC, MDR, SIEM)
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, M365)
- Incident Response
- Zero Trust Architectures
- AI Security & Governance
Governance & Risk FoundationWorking knowledge of one or more of the following:
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- Risk Management concepts
- Third-Party Risk Management
- Security Program Development
Deep audit or compliance experience is not required, but the ability to recognize governance- and risk-related opportunities and connect them to customer needs is important.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, or equivalent
- Azure or AWS security-related certifications
- Vendor certifications from Microsoft, Palo Alto, Arctic Wolf, CrowdStrike, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar providers
- Experience supporting presales or consulting engagements in regulated or security-conscious environments
