Cybersecurity Community Champion

This highly visible role combines community engagement, threat intelligence, and technical content development. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on building relationships and participating in cybersecurity conversations across online communities, social platforms, forums, and industry events. The remaining 50% will focus on researching emerging threats, analyzing real-world attacks, monitoring adversary activity, and creating technical content that educates practitioners on prevention-first security strategies.

The ideal candidate is a cybersecurity professional who is passionate about helping others, actively engaged in the security community, and capable of translating complex threat intelligence into practical guidance that security teams can apply immediately.

The role will be based in Orlando, FL and is an in-office position.

JOB SCOPE:

Community Engagement & Advocacy (50%)
  • Actively engage with cybersecurity practitioners across Reddit, LinkedIn, X, Discord, Slack communities, industry forums, and other professional platforms.
  • Serve as a trusted resource by providing thoughtful, technically accurate responses to security-related questions and discussions.
  • Represent ThreatLocker as a knowledgeable and approachable cybersecurity expert.
  • Advocate for Zero Trust principles and prevention-first cybersecurity strategies.
  • Participate in webinars, podcasts, AMAs, live streams, conferences, and industry events.
  • Build credibility and long-term trust within the cybersecurity community through authentic engagement and education.
  • Identify opportunities to naturally introduce ThreatLocker solutions when relevant to community discussions and security challenges.
  • Monitor community sentiment, emerging concerns, industry trends, and practitioner pain points.
  • Provide actionable feedback to Marketing, Product, ThreatLocker Labs, and Leadership teams based on community insights.

Threat Intelligence & Technical Content Development (50%)
  • Monitor and research emerging cyber threats, malware campaigns, ransomware activity, attacker techniques, and security trends.
  • Analyze real-world attacks and security incidents to identify lessons learned and defensive strategies.
  • Track evolving adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) using industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Collaborate with ThreatLocker Labs and internal security teams to understand and communicate emerging threat activity.
  • Develop technical content including threat advisories, research articles, blogs, whitepapers, webinars, videos, and social media content.
  • Translate complex threat intelligence into actionable recommendations for security professionals and IT teams.
  • Create educational content that demonstrates how Zero Trust and prevention-first security models mitigate modern cyber threats.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives by providing expert commentary on current cybersecurity events and industry developments.
  • Identify recurring attack patterns and emerging risks that are relevant to ThreatLocker customers and the broader cybersecurity community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, security engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, including ransomware, malware, living-off-the-land techniques, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and endpoint attacks.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, or responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
  • Deep understanding of Zero Trust architecture and security best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable engaging publicly with cybersecurity practitioners and industry professionals.
  • Ability to balance technical education, community engagement, and product advocacy.
  • Strong professional judgment and integrity when representing the company publicly.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience participating in cybersecurity communities, forums, or social platforms.
  • Experience producing technical cybersecurity content, research reports, blogs, webinars, or presentations.
  • Familiarity with endpoint protection, application control, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and network security technologies.
  • Experience with threat intelligence analysis, malware research, incident response, or security operations.
  • Public speaking experience at conferences, webinars, user groups, or industry events.
  • Experience serving as a technical evangelist, community advocate, or industry spokesperson.
