Cybersecurity Analyst for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. The candidate will support enterprise-level security operations by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats while strengthening incident response and detection capabilities across a centralized environment.
Required Qualifications of the Cybersecurity Analyst: - Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- 2+ years of experience in security monitoring and incident response within a SOC or similar environment
- 2+ years of experience working with the MITRE ATT&CK framework or comparable threat models
- 2+ years of experience creating dashboards, reports, and security metrics
- Experience analyzing alerts from SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and related security tools
- Ability to perform incident investigation, root cause analysis, and escalation
- Strong documentation skills for incident reporting and operational procedures
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a cybersecurity environment
Preferred Skills / Experience of the Cybersecurity Analyst: - Experience with Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSIAM/XDR
- Knowledge of Linux systems, networking concepts, and network design
- Experience administering firewalls, VPNs, Active Directory, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Previous experience in large-scale or multi-organization environments
Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Analyst: - Monitor and correlate security events across multiple tools to identify threats and suspicious activity
- Investigate security incidents, including phishing, malware, and unauthorized access attempts
- Perform detailed analysis to determine root cause, impact, and appropriate escalation
- Develop incident reports, timelines, and post-incident summaries with recommendations
- Tune detection rules and improve alerting logic to enhance threat visibility and reduce false positives
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize security tools and support proactive threat hunting
Work Location: Hybrid in Columbia, SC (Preference for candidates who can work onsite versus hybrid)
