This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer to work out of Fort Meade, MD, in support of a multi-national capability developed to connect respective existing national Secret networks and services to deliver improved information sharing capabilities between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Experience with ESS (Trellix) and ACAS scanning for vulnerability assessments and RMF decisions
  • Experience mitigating and remediating vulnerabilities to ensure information system security
  • Identifies network computer intrusion evidence and perpetrators.
  • Investigates computer fraud or other electronic crimes, cracks files and system passwords, detects steganography, and recovers deleted, fragmented, and corrupted data from digital media of all types.
  • Defines procedures relevant to securing technology, working with other team members to fulfill project requirements.
  • Assists project manager in developing a project plan, functional requirements, and delivery of secured IT infrastructures and applications.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • 3 years of IT security experience
  • Applicable common Cybersecurity certification(s) such as, but not limited to: CISSP or Security+
  • Experience in securing information systems, network infrastructures, or other related technologies.
  • Possesses in-depth technical knowledge regarding up-to-date methods for securing information sources and delivery mechanisms.
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizen


Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with ESS (Trellix) and ACAS
  • Experience working in or for the military
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking in support of military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments, such as Pegasus.
  • Experience or interest in materials, material applications, defense systems, and/or supply chains.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
