Entarian is seeking an experienced Cyber Test & Evaluation (Cyber T&E) Engineer to support cybersecurity testing, security assessments, and vulnerability evaluation activities for mission-critical information systems. The Cyber T&E Engineer is responsible for planning and executing cybersecurity test events, validating security controls, conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, and supporting system accreditation activities. This role works closely with ISSMs, ISSOs, ISSEs, SOC personnel, systems engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure systems meet cybersecurity requirements and maintain an acceptable security posture.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense or federal cybersecurity programs involving space systems, mission operations, communications networks, cloud environments, or enterprise IT capabilities.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Develop and execute cybersecurity test plans, procedures, and evaluation criteria for information systems and networks.
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security control validation activities.
- Perform security testing in support of RMF, ATO, and system accreditation activities.
- Analyze vulnerabilities, document findings, and recommend remediation actions.
- Coordinate cybersecurity test events with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams.
- Validate implementation and effectiveness of security controls in accordance with NIST and DoD requirements.
- Support vulnerability remediation verification and regression testing following corrective actions.
- Develop test reports, security assessment documentation, and technical recommendations.
- Support continuous monitoring activities and periodic security assessments.
- Prepare technical briefings and assessment results for program leadership and government stakeholders.
Salary range: $125,000.00 - $141,000.00
Minimum Qualifications- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting cybersecurity testing, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or security assessment activities.
- Experience conducting penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security control validation.
- Experience supporting NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, Security Assessment Plans (SAPs), and Security Assessment Reports (SARs).
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, ACAS, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, networking, and cloud security concepts.
- DoD 8140 (or legacy DoD 8570) compliant certification such as Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, CEH, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power-Point, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to support customer locations, assessment events, and operational activities.
Desired Qualifications- Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, U.S. Space Force, or other federal cybersecurity programs.
- Experience supporting Security Control Assessments (SCAs), ATO packages, and RMF authorization activities.
- Experience with web application, cloud, wireless, and network penetration testing.
- Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Kubernetes, and container security.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust Architecture, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, GWAPT, CISSP, CAP, or comparable cybersecurity credentials.
- Experience supporting classified environments, space systems, SATCOM, or mission operations.
- Experience developing automated security testing or scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
