Position Description & QualificationsSerco is seeking a
Cyber Systems Administrator to support the DMOC-IDE team at the 705th CTS. This role focuses on administering and maintaining hybrid Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments that enable Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training for Air Force, Joint, and Coalition forces.Support mission-critical training systems for U.S. and coalition warfighters while working with modern enterprise infrastructure and technologies in a dynamic operational environment.
In this role, you will:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server (2019/2022) and RHEL systems in a multi-user environment
- Manage Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and access controls
- Perform system patching, hardening, and compliance in coordination with cybersecurity teams
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and performance
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, OS, and system software
- Manage file systems, storage, and virtualization environments (VMware ESXi/vCenter)
- Provide Tier 1/2 support, including incident response, ticket resolution, and root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system configurations
- Support network services and VTC systems as needed
- Collaborate with engineers and cybersecurity personnel to ensure secure and stable operations
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active DoD Secret security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- A Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience
- OR an Associate's degree and 7 years of experience
- OR a High School Diploma and 9 years of experience
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server administration (AD, GPOs, domain services)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
- Experience with patching, system hardening, and troubleshooting
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience with VMware virtualization (ESXi, vCenter)
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs and patch management tools
- Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and enterprise storage
- Knowledge of hybrid Windows/Linux environments in classified networks
- Strong documentation and process development skills.
