The Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Emerging Technologies organization is seeking a Cyber System Security Engineering Associate Manager who will support the technical lead's and guide a team of platform engineers that design, deliver, and sustain platforms for the Aeronautics Line of Business, providing 21st-century security and functionality for our programs.

The role is split roughly 25 % into team management and 75 % into hands-on engineering. In this position you will partner closely with the IPT and tech lead's to set direction, provide decisive engineering guidance, and ensure the deployment of specialized tools that satisfy operational, governance, risk-management, and compliance requirements for classified systems and infrastructure.

You will oversee Cyber Platform Engineers activities that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified assets, drive advanced risk-governance operations, and implement proactive, automation-enabled security practices. Leveraging deep expertise in development and security controls, you will also focus on training, mentorship, and compliance enforcement so the team consistently delivers resilient cybersecurity solutions.

Basic Qualifications

Proven ability to motivate, influence, and lead cybersecurity teams.
Deep cybersecurity expertise with a track record of guiding technical groups to deliver complex, artifact-backed solutions founded on independent analysis.
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, adept at translating technical concepts into clear, operational language.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade security platforms.

Proven experience with enterprise system platforms.
Strong background in operating systems, including Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL)
Strong background in scripting languages and utilizing automation software/platforms (PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, PowerCLI, etc.)
Hands on expertise with VMware virtualization technologies.
Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
Hands-on expertise with NAS/SAN appliances and network integration.
Demonstrated ability to perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security configuration management
Experience providing end user support and responding to security incidents
Willingness and availability to perform remote travel.
DOD 8570 certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CASP, CISSP or CCNP-Security.
Active Secret clearance (investigation or CV 6#8804; 5 years) and eligible for Top Secret.

Skilled in vulnerability remediation, system hardening, log management, and configuration control using Trellix, Ivanti, ACAS, SCAP, HBSS, etc.

Knowledgeable in Information Assurance hardening and compliance frameworks (STIG, DSS) and associated documentation.

Deep understanding of system integration with various different technologies (Microsoft, vSphere, Cisco, HPE MSA, etc.)
Familiar with core services: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy.

Experience with storage technologies (NAS, SAN) and their networking integrations.

Proficient in scripting/automation languages (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to streamline system administration tasks.

Hands on experience with hypervisor platforms (vSphere, Hyper-V) and related tools.

Understanding of SQL or other database technologies and ability to work with them effectively.

Willing and able to travel 6#8805; 25 % of the time, including domestic and international locations, as program needs dictate.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $142,000 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
