What You'll Do

Job Profile Summary

The Cyber Security Engineer at Freeman Health System is responsible for safeguarding all enterprise data, including HIPAA-regulated and other sensitive information, by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network and system resources. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of cybersecurity technologies such as cloud security, remote access, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, and NAC. The engineer contributes to the design and implementation of Zero Trust environments, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies. Additionally, they lead projects, develop enterprise-class security solutions, and collaborate across departments and partner organizations to uphold security best practices and organizational standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. (4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below)
  • Demonstrated success in use of vulnerability scanners, SIEM, cloud security tools, identity access management systems, encryption technologies, firewall management, IDS/IPS, URL filtering, or endpoint detection and response tools. Demonstrated success assessing, testing, and implementing security controls


Preferred Requirements:
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare setting, using technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud, Active Directory, Cisco and Palo Alto Product Lines, VPN, Intrusion Prevention, Detection and Response, PAM, SIEM, Federation/SAML, or Vulnerability Management.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CCSP, and/or specific training and certification in Cloud, Microsoft 365, or other information security specialty.
