Full Job Description
Cyber Security II for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will provide hands-on cybersecurity operations support, focusing on real-time alert monitoring, threat investigation, incident triage, and response across enterprise technology environments. The role requires a technically strong security professional who can analyze activity across endpoints, networks, cloud platforms, email, and servers to identify and respond to potential threats.

Required Qualifications of the Cyber Security II:
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical cybersecurity experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; associate degree equivalency may be considered.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with security operations, incident response, alert investigation, and threat analysis.
  • Experience using SIEM and EDR technologies to investigate suspicious activity and correlate security events.
  • Strong log analysis skills across Windows, Linux, network, authentication, and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience analyzing network-based attacks, endpoint activity, and potential indicators of compromise.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure security environments.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience: CrowdStrike Falcon, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic/Elasticsearch/Kibana, QRadar, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne, Palo Alto, Cisco, Proofpoint, Tenable/Nessus, or ExtraHop.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience: Incident response, threat hunting, cyber threat intelligence, security assessments, and CISA, CISM, or CISSP certification.

Responsibilities of the Cyber Security II:
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts across SIEM, EDR, network, email, cloud, and server environments.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of logs and security events to determine the scope, cause, and legitimacy of suspicious activity.
  • Triage incidents, assess potential impact, and coordinate escalation, containment, and remediation efforts.
  • Analyze endpoint and network activity for malicious behavior, attack techniques, and indicators of compromise.
  • Support threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and security investigations using available intelligence and security tools.
  • Document findings and collaborate with technical teams to resolve incidents and strengthen security controls.

Work Location: Hybrid schedule with onsite work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, plus additional onsite work as needed. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM in Columbia, SC.
