Department Intro:

As a CVD Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working with a team of other process and equipment engineers responsible for starting up, maintaining and optimizing equipment to improve product quality and reliability, reduce cost, improve productivity, and manage risk, as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. This position will identify, diagnose and resolve process and equipment related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, KT, FDC and/or SPC methodologies.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluations and optimizations, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new component qualifications and managing, auditing and liaising with equipment suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.

Position Overview:

Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and reducing equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of Chemical Vapor Deposition Equipment in a 300mm Wafer Fab
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues impacting safety, manufacturing availability, wafer output, cost of ownership, scrap, raw process time, and quality.
  • Set up equipment parameters and maintenance plans for semiconductor processing equipment
  • Evaluation, planning, and execution of new equipment installation, as well as upgrades to, and continuous improvement of, existing equipment

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot complex issues


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of performance issues and implement preventative actions to reduce or eliminate equipment failures
  • Familiarity with Semiconductor Fabrication methods, Robotics, and Vacuum Systems
