Customer Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering secure, reliable control systems that support utility and industrial customers across North America. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping project teams navigate evolving cybersecurity requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations while ensuring our advanced power quality solutions remain protected and compliant.
In this role, you will work closely with customers, internal cybersecurity specialists, engineering teams, and global colleagues to design, implement, verify, and continuously improve cybersecurity controls for advanced control, SCADA, HMI, and network environments. You will stay current on cybersecurity regulations, security advisories, and industry best practices, translating technical requirements into practical solutions that strengthen system resilience and project success. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative FACTS technologies that help utilities modernize power systems, improve grid reliability, and support the energy transition. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
This hybrid position is based in the Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina area and offers meaningful collaboration with teams across North America and globally.
How You'll Make an Impact- Assess customer cybersecurity and network requirements and translate them into secure control system solutions.
- Design, implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity controls within control system environments.
- Collaborate with customers, project teams, and cybersecurity experts to align technical solutions and compliance objectives.
- Perform cybersecurity verification and validation activities in test environments and at customer sites.
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and system integration activities.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity standards, security advisories, and regulatory requirements across the U.S. and Canada.
- Develop technical documentation and support quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate and strengthen the security of DCS, SCADA, HMI, and operational technology (OT) network environments.
Your Background- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operational Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Three or more years of experience with network infrastructure, OT systems, or virtualized environments such as VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based platforms.
- Experience with network technologies including VLANs, VPNs, redundancy protocols, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA, and network access controls.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, OT cybersecurity practices, and industry standards such as IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS, IPS, or SIEM platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar are highly desirable.
