Job Summary

The Customer Support Business Manager ensures that all elements of production-from procurement through delivery-are aligned for success. This role focuses on first-time engineering builds and production readiness, coordinating across Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure materials, processes, and documentation are in place. This individual will proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and drive on-time delivery of hardware for both prototype and production-transition builds.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Material & Demand Management
  • Collaborate with engineering and Integrated Supply Chain teams to identify and procure materials for first-time builds. Ensure timely delivery of parts and materials to the lab.
  • Load and maintain demand in SAP; monitor purchase orders and follow up on delays.
  • Manage inventory levels, adjudicate excess/shortage situations, and recommend disposition strategies.

Production Readiness & Coordination
  • Ensure work instructions are available and followed, coordinate QA audits and signoffs.
  • Partner with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to develop and maintain viable NPI plans with milestones and resourcing.
  • Identify and mitigate risks impacting engineering builds as well as low-rate production readiness and delivery.
  • Drive resolution of supply chain and production issues; escalate as needed to maintain program schedule.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Develop and report metrics on engineering build readiness, supply chain performance, first-time build quality, and other metrics as necessary to accurately convey the status of first-time engineering builds and new product transitions.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cost and schedule.
  • Support cost optimization efforts, including negotiating cancellations, make/buy decisions, and managing inventory.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • 12+ years in production operations, supply chain coordination, financial analysis, or manufacturing support (Defense/Aerospace industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and ERP systems (SAP experience highly desirable).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities; comfortable with persistent follow-up.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Travel: Up to 10% (as required for supplier or site visits).
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required.


Cubic Pay Range:
$182,000.00 - $204,000.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
