Customer Service Supervisor is the supervisory level class responsible for delegating and monitoring the workload of the Utility Billing Division staff on a daily basis, supervising and training assigned staff, and handling the most difficult customer concerns. This classification is distinguished from the classifications of Administrative Analyst and Senior Customer Service Representative by the performance of full supervisory responsibility for the Utility Billing Division and performance of analytical work in preparing various analyses and reports, receiving only occasional instruction and requiring a high degree of independent judgment and a thorough knowledge of City and departmental functions, policies and procedures.

Typical QualificationsAny combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Customer Service Supervisor. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of three (3) years of directly related experience in customer service, utility billing, cashiering, customer account administration financial or statistical record keeping, related administrative support functions, including two (2) years of lead/supervisory experience; and a High School diploma or GED. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a closely related field is desirable.
License/Certificate:Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class "C" California driver's license.
