Full Job Description

This role will be responsible for strengthening strategic customer relationships across Clarion’s industrial platform, deepening customer intelligence, and partnering with Asset Management, Leasing, and Development to support retention, expansion, and growth opportunities. The Customer Relations Director will serve as a senior relationship resource for key customers and prospective customers, helping to better understand their business objectives, real estate needs, and market priorities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Asset Management, Leasing, and Development to build and maintain relationships with key industrial customers and prospective customers of Clarion Partners
  • Organizing and participating in customer coverage visits with appropriate customer decision-makers, brokers, and internal relationship owners
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of each customer’s current lease profile with Clarion, including term, location, renewal timing, expansion potential, and other relevant business considerations
  • Interacting regularly with tenants to anticipate needs, identify potential issues, strengthen relationships, and ensure Clarion is responsive to customer priorities
  • Developing a working knowledge of each customer’s business strategy, operating model, supply chain needs, growth plans, and real estate priorities through public sources, direct interaction, and internal market intelligence
  • Monitoring key trends across strategic markets, submarkets, customer industries, building specifications, and occupier requirements that may inform portfolio, leasing, or development opportunities
  • Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities through industry relationships, customer contacts, market knowledge, and strategic account coverage
  • Seeking to align Clarion’s land, development, and asset opportunities with customer needs, including expansion, relocation, build-to-suit, and renewal opportunities
  • Developing and leading a Customer Advisory Council to meet regularly, discuss current issues, share best practices, and generate actionable insights for Clarion’s industrial platform
  • Overseeing the annual Customer Survey process, including coordination, interpretation of results, reporting of themes, and development of appropriate follow-up actions

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in a related field required.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of commercial real estate experience, preferably with exposure to industrial sector
  • Highly motivated, self-directed professional with a strong sense of accountability, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Highly cross-functional: comfortable operating as a central resource across leasing, asset management, development, legal, and finance teams without direct line authority
  • Exceptional relationship manager with the ability to influence and build trust with internal stakeholders, customers, brokers, and other external counterparties
  • High-integrity and collaborative: operates with transparency and earns trust across internal and external counterparts
