Job Description

Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic, service minded engineer, who enjoys helping business to succeed by providing quality support to customers, new product development and manufacturing production operations to ensure that TI's products are built in accordance with customer and BU quality expectations while maintaining production flow. The Business Quality Engineer helps solve challenging product quality issues to ensure the integrity of components and products produced. This individual proactively drives quality improvement efforts in assigned areas with the goal of achieving "quality entitlement" performance. The role also supports systematic quality improvements and problem-solving efforts with the focus on protecting and improving product quality and satisfying both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Solve challenging technical product quality issues, leveraging deep data analytics, manufacturing process knowledge, and hands-on device evaluation where appropriate.
  • Drill down to technical root cause on critical product quality issues. Ensure that products meet or exceed TI's quality and reliability standards.
  • Lead problem resolution with the development teams, manufacturing sites, and central quality organizations to implement corrective and preventative action (CAPA) on complex systemic issues.
  • Drive efficient and comprehensive resolution of internal/external quality excursions to minimize customer impact. Offer world-class response to large quality events.
  • Quickly identify and mitigate issues on critical new ramping products.
  • Enable efficiencies in processes and tools to reduce both cycle time and quantity of customer returns.
  • Act for the BU with regards to global quality events and related CAPA


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related engineering fields of study
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to solve unique complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong analytical mindset with the curiosity and drive to get to the root cause of any problem
  • Structured and independent work style and comfortable of making decisions in uncertain, high-pressure situations
  • High sense of ownership, problem-solving attitude and a willingness to be hands-on
  • Quality mindset with the understanding of various quality processes (fishbone, 3x5Why, 8D, etc.)
  • Broad technical knowledge of semiconductor technologies, products, circuit operation, test methods, and failure analysis
