Full Job Description
WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Customer Operations Automation Developer (IT Applications Analyst) in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Pewaukee office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Applications Analyst, IT Applications Analyst, and Senior IT Applications Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor. If you are currently in this Job Family, it will be a lateral move.

Job Summary

This position is part of the Customer Operations area that supports various business critical systems used primarily by internal users. The IT Applications Analyst works as a member of a team to support the company's computer application systems that include a mixture of vendor and in-house developed applications primarily utilizing Microsoft development tools as well as underlying database systems (enterprise wide or client specific). Tasks include designing, modifying, developing, testing, configuring and implementing programs, scripts, processes and procedures (or decommissioning the same).

Job Responsibilities

  • Production support includes troubleshooting applications, interacting with software vendors and responding to user requests.
  • Working with clients to identify their needs and providing technical expertise in the evaluation of software solutions.
  • Provide daily support to computer systems, software applications, databases or tools. Provide problem resolution support. Analyze error conditions and expedite problem resolution.
  • Design, modify, develop, write, implement and test software programming applications or tools.
  • Write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, test plans and corrections.
  • Install, upgrade, patch, configure and administer software applications or tools.
  • Perform change management, capacity management, and performance management of corporate computer systems and resources.
  • Maintain security authorization controls and user security measures at the application or computer software system level.
  • Effectively use computer languages, software packages, operating systems, productivity tools, security and other technical infrastructure tools and components to perform assigned tasks.
  • Apply database, client-server and web concepts in the completion of assigned tasks. Use IT Standard processes and procedures in assignments.
  • Ability to work independently on small/medium projects or as a team member on larger projects.
  • 24x7 on-call support is required on a rotating basis.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is required. Other bachelor's degrees will be considered based on related IT experience. Successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.


This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in an application architecture and development, support and project delivery role.
  • Experience in .Net web and web service development (C#, Angular), PowerShell, Oracle DB, PL/SQL, SQL, MS SQL Server, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Strong technical understanding of application architecture and development practices.
  • Strong analysis, decision making, and problem solving abilities.
  • Production support experience with large enterprise applications, specifically field dispatch or electric outage management systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and vendors
  • Organizing and planning skills necessary to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Project management experience

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68

Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08

This position is eligible for employee referral bonus.

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
