Job Summary

The Customer & Brand Insights Consulting Lead will turn customer, brand, market, and partner intelligence into clear recommendations that shape strategy and improve business outcomes. Serving as a trusted internal consultant and the voice of the customer, this role will connect evidence across commercial and consumer markets, products, services, experiences, and partner channels. The successful candidate will work across Marketing, Customer Experience, Services, Channel, Strategy to frame critical questions, integrate multiple data sources, and influence decisions from opportunity identification through execution and measurement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead customer insights: Build a holistic understanding of needs, behaviors, decision journeys, pain points, loyalty drivers, and unmet opportunities across commercial buyers, IT decision-makers, small and midsize businesses, consumers, end users, and channel partners.
  • Advance brand intelligence: Assess awareness, consideration, preference, trust, relevance, experience, and competitive positioning; translate changes in brand health into implications for portfolio, messaging, activation, and investment.
  • Connect insight to experience: Integrate attitudinal research with customer experience, product usage, support, sales, digital, social, review, and partner signals to identify root causes and practical actions.
  • Provide strategic consulting: Frame ambiguous business questions, develop hypotheses, size opportunities, clarify trade-offs, and deliver concise, evidence-based recommendations to leaders and working teams.
  • Represent diverse audiences: Ensure strategies reflect commercial and consumer customers as well as distributors, resellers, retailers, service providers, and other ecosystem partners.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Build strong relationships across Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Experience, Services, Channel, align stakeholders around shared questions, definitions, and decisions.
  • Design and manage research: Lead qualitative and quantitative work, including segmentation, journeys, needs-based research, concept and message testing, brand tracking, experience studies, social intelligence, and competitive analysis.
  • Synthesize multiple data sources: Combine primary research, first-party data, behavioral analytics, market intelligence, voice-of-customer inputs, and third-party sources into coherent narratives and decision frameworks.
  • Communicate for impact: Create executive-ready stories, dashboards, workshops, and decision briefs that make complex findings accessible and actionable.
  • Drive adoption and accountability: Establish learning agendas and success measures, track how insights are used, and assess the business and customer impact of resulting actions.
  • Maintain research excellence: Manage agencies, budgets, timelines, data quality, privacy, and ethical research practices while improving methods, tools, and speed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, market research, behavioral science, statistics, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in customer, consumer, brand, market, or customer experience insights, including a strong record of translating evidence into business action.
  • Experience supporting a technology, hardware, devices, services, or similarly complex portfolio with both commercial and consumer offerings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial buying dynamics, including multi-stakeholder decision processes, IT and business decision-makers, procurement, and enterprise or SMB customer needs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer behavior, retail and digital journeys, ownership and usage experiences, and brand choice.
  • Experience researching or working with channel partners, distributors, resellers, retailers, service providers, or other ecosystem participants.
  • Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methods, survey and discussion-guide design, segmentation, tracking, journey research, and interpretation of statistical outputs.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives in a global, matrixed organization without relying on direct authority.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, storytelling, and executive-presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in business, marketing research, analytics, psychology, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience integrating survey, CRM, digital, product telemetry, customer support, social, reviews, sales, and partner data.
  • Familiarity with analytics and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, Python, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with AI-enabled research, knowledge-management, or insight-discovery tools, paired with sound judgment on validation, governance, privacy, and human oversight.
  • Experience managing research agencies, scopes of work, budgets, and global programs across markets.

About the Role

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional
opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United
States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
