Responsibilities
Advises and supports operational planners on Iranian culture, politics, social media, regime influence, religious groups, ethnic groups, and influential voices.
Supports OIE and IW planning and execution (content development) by assessing cultural resonance, linguistic nuance, symbolism, and potential risk.
Translates, interprets, transcribes, and analyzes oral and written materials, including reports, data, briefings, media, and conversations, to include collected information and/or intelligence
Advises on population characteristics/demographics and behavioral drivers to improve the effectiveness of OIE and IW and enable target audience analysis.
Integrates cultural insights into operational assessments, helping planners and leadership understand shifts in perception, behavior, and narrative acceptance and to refine operations
Supports key leader engagement
Researches source-language materials and produces command-level products in support of planning.
Support monitoring and analysis of traditional, digital, and social media for trends, behaviors, events, and developments, and produce synopsis reports and assessments of local geopolitics, foreign media narratives, and influence activities.
Support analysis of key actors and relationships, interpret informal influence structures (e.g., tribal, familial, religious, and community ties), and identify culturally credible pathways and opportunities that support operational and campaign planning.
Qualifications
Required
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelors degree in Political Science, International Studies, Anthropology, Foreign Language/Linguistics, Area Studies or other relevant field
Minimum of 3+, 5+, or 7+ years experience providing cultural and/or linguistic support to US military operations or USG agency. Years of experience will help to determine position level.
Minimum language testing scores of 4/4/4 or higher in English and Farsi, Dari, Pashto, or Arabic languages depending on location
Demonstrated expertise and understanding of Iranian culture, politics, regime influence, social media, religious groups, ethnic groups, and regional dynamics.
Valid U.S. passport with at least one year remaining before expiration.
Ability to brief and present to small and large groups.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a deployed environment and support extended or shift-based schedules.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated experience supporting OIE/IO, PSYOP, IW, SOF or related operational activities or units
Recent regional experience, residence, or travel.
5 years experience working with USCENTCOM, interagency, coalition, or deployed military teams.
