Full Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Stormwater Business Class Lead will be to provide in-house leadership and guidance as it relates to stormwater services as well as delivering projects for clients related to stormwater work and growing the external visibility of HDR's Stormwater Program. This role is responsible for supporting the overall vision and strategy of multiple offices. They will function as a liaison and coordinator for staff across different sections and offices to deliver projects and proposals with innovation, applicable standards and relevant resumes included. They will work closely with the project engineers to prepare both planning level and design level projects including drainage reports, and contract/bid documents; and work collaboratively with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and business development opportunities. They will also be required to manage projects and provide production support on projects in addition to business development responsibilities. This role is responsible for identifying and executing, with teams of staff, the multiple HDR services needed by municipal and utility operated stormwater programs throughout Texas as well as internal services including, but not limited to:
3 Participating in capturing planning processes and/or driving business development opportunities3 Helping local offices with recruiting, as needed3 Identifying stormwater professional organizations and conferences for staff participation3 Fostering relationships with local stormwater clients and professionals3 Organizing and disseminating industry best practices to project teams and sections of staff3 Driving and participating in national stormwater related initiatives3 Leading comprehensive stormwater management and master planning3 Understanding state stormwater regulations and manuals3 Applying asset management applications and tools3 Leading Planning, Design, and Construction phase services:
3 Surface Water H&H Modeling and Mapping3 Nature based solutions and Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development3 Stream rehabilitation and restoration3 Stormwater collection and conveyance3 Erosion mitigation3 Flood protection and mitigation3 Stormwater quality treatment
3 Best management practices (BMPs) for water quality treatment3 Low Impact Development (LID)3 Leading watershed planning3 Applying hydrologic and stormwater/drainage modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
3 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, Water Resources, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university3 Minimum of ten years of related work experience, including experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design of drainage and stormwater projects3 Maintains a Professional Engineering registration and has related technical experience3 Experience with hydrology, hydraulic/drainage design, and stormwater facility design software.3 Ability to function as a leader and an active team player in a diverse multidisciplinary environment3 Experience with liaising with and coordinating staff at all levels 3 Strong communication and presentation skills.3 Organized and mission driven3 Experience with GSI/LID3 Prior business development experience3 Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand

3 Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 3 10 years of experience 3 Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values3 Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience3 Experienced in development and management of diverse teams3 Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts 3 An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
