Certifications:
- CRT - ARRT (upon hire)
- CRT - Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC (upon hire)
Must-Have:
- Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
Description:
Under general supervision, performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
Demonstrates good clinical skills to provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection.
Follows the philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.
Verifies patient identification and physician orders.
Provides procedural information and education to patients and families prior to each exam.
Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record.
Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical abilities and limitations.
Places IVs as required for injection of contrast media.
Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs quality control and quality assurance testing.
Monitors patients during procedures to ensure safety.
Ensures STAT requests are relayed to the radiologist in a timely manner.
Ensures equipment is cleaned between patients and that the exam room is stocked with linen and supplies.
Uses hospital computer systems effectively for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
Communicates effectively with medical staff, management, technical and support staff.
Physical demands include:
Lifting up to 35 lbs. and carrying as required.
Frequent standing and walking.
Seldom sitting, driving, and performing tasks requiring forward bending or trunk rotation.
Occasional finger/hand dexterity and visual acuity requirements.
