Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Radiology, Chairman or Manager, the Chief Cat Scan Technologist has a complete understanding and is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of Cat Scan Imaging Program. Performs diagnostic imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. Assures service is in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.

Education

Graduate of an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Certification, Registration, and Licensure

Registration required: Current with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist

Certification required: Advance CT Certification required

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association

Licensure required: Licensed and Certified by the NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy

Experience

Two years experience required as a CT Technologist. Previous supervisory experienced preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits and models leadership skills and acts like an owner for the organization, department and

    modality.

  • Exhibits organizational skills to efficiently maintain the daily operations of the department.

  • Performs CT diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in accordance and within the scope of practice and

    departmental standards.

  • Assesses pertinent information, prepares and educates patient for procedures and expectations.

  • Completes documentation of patient care and procedure.

  • Utilizes of the hospital and departmental information, technology systems and equipment operations.

  • Communicates to the health care team in providing quality patient care.

  • Maintains a level of productivity, adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and

    processes required to meet patient care and department needs.

  • Adheres to department policy and procedures and practices modality specific safety protocols.

  • Actively engages in departmental, team and committee initiatives.

  • Completes hospital, departmental, and professional requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
