Job DescriptionBGIS is currently seeking a
Critical Facility Manager (Data Center) to join the team in
Harwood, ND. Position Summary: The
Critical Facility Manager provides general oversight of critical facilities team and data center operations including financial management of the account and resolution of client contractual inquiries. The position provides critical input in month end, quarter end, and year-end financial processes to ensure accuracy and account analysis. The
Critical Facility Manager leads others positively exemplifying BGIS values.
Team Management - Establish, communicate, and meet performance standards in alignment with overall company goals.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels by interviewing, onboarding, and training new facility engineers.
- Review and document individual performance and deliver timely feedback.
- Maintain ongoing facility engineer training and certification programs.
- Support individual professional development and career planning.
- Collaborate with others for the overall success of the critical environments team.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Client Relationships and Facility Operations - Maintain positive client relationships.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
- Create facility capacity plans.
- Manage monthly financial cycle activities.
- Assess and report on power, space, and cooling usage.
- Optimize use of Computerized Maintenance Management System and implement necessary system changes.
- Provide infrastructure (Mechanical and Electrical) support to the Server, SAN, Networking, Computer Operations, and Security teams.
- Supervises daily Data Center operations.
- Facilitate resolution of facility related technical issues.
- Interface with other departments as needed to complete work.
- Provide monthly reporting as required by the client agreement.
- Maintain and meet/exceed KPIs and SLAs.
- Obtain, coordinate, and manage qualified contractors' agreements, proposals, maintenance, and service delivery from inception to closeout including all required documentation.
Facility Standards - Execute tactical and long-term strategies.
- Implement business procedures and processes.
- Manage facility per client agreement(s).
- Preserve facility assets.
- Achieve budgeted financial results.
- Collaborate with other BGIS departments to execute agreements and optimize opportunities.
- Establish, communicate, and maintain operational standards.
- Employ utility conservation programs.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with facility operating procedures and processes, work rules and regulations, national, state, and local safety and operating codes, and regulatory agency requirements.
Knowledge & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent field of study or work experience.
- Six years of experience in critical environments and facility management.
- Demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of an assistant critical facilities manager.
- Current knowledge of facility systems, procedures, and processes.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
- Success in managing highly complex client and vendor relationships.
- Professional affiliations preferred (24x7, IFMA, and Data Center Pulse).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
- Experience with SharePoint and Power BI preferred.

- Ability and willingness to travel regionally.
- Current valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
- Physical ability to walk jobsites in uneven terrain.
- Working at heights training/certification preferred.
- Respond to off hour emergency calls.
