Job Announcement The City of Burnsville is seeking to fill the position of Crime Analyst- Behavioral Health Unit & Police Admin. In this position you will support the Police Department by collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating information to further police investigations, inform patrol operations, and promote regional information sharing.
Position DetailsThere are two Crime Analyst positions at the City of Burnsville. This opening is for the analyst supporting the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) and Police Administration. Their focus will be on supporting data-driven, collaborative responses to BHU clients, by conducting research and information sharing, as well as serving as the technical lead for data systems and analysis for the unit.
They will also be the primary person responsible for statistical and strategic analysis of department operations, to include crime statistics, emerging trends and hotspots, and informational research projects for city leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum qualifications for this position include Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, computer forensics geography computer science/engineering or an equivalent degree; knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of planning and research; experience or education in the use of geographic information systems (GIS); familiarity with the concepts of database construction and management as well as the ability to design and customize reports from databases for the end user.
