Overview

This is a hybrid leadership and hands-on production role. The Creative Operations Lead will oversee a team of global designers, manage resources, workflow and quality across assignments, and serve as the primary day-to-day prepress specialist for the IHCG agencies. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable guiding a team, solving production challenges, and preparing flawless, release-ready files.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4+ global designers, setting clear expectations for quality, responsiveness, utilization, accountability, and reliable studio coverage.
• Manage daily studio workflow, resource allocation, project assignments, and priorities across IHCG to ensure clear prioritization and on-time delivery.
• Serve as the day-to-day prepress specialist, preparing and releasing accurate, production-ready mechanicals and final files across assigned brands.
• Conduct comprehensive quality-control checks for bleeds, trims, safety, dielines, resolution, fonts, links, image integrity, color accuracy, file packaging, and required pharmaceutical formatting, including legal copy, fair balance, footnotes, references, and superscripts.
• Ensure all deliverables align with approved creative, brand guidelines, regulatory expectations, and vendor/publication specifications; review print and digital proofs, identify production risks, recommend solutions, and confirm final-file accuracy before release.
• Partner with Creative, Account, Project Management, Operations, and Production teams to forecast workload, resolve bottlenecks, improve workflow visibility, and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for overflow creative production and coordinate with external vendors as needed.
• Develop and maintain studio processes, templates, naming conventions, archival standards, and quality-control measures to improve speed, consistency, efficiency, and scalability while minimizing rework and vendor issues.
• Monitor studio utilization, budgets, and vendor costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and expand capabilities as business needs evolve.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strong cross-functional partnership across IHCG.
• Build a scalable studio model that supports business growth while maintaining creative quality, brand integrity, strong team utilization, and consistent production standards.

 Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in studio production, prepress, print production, graphic production, or a related discipline within an agency, studio, or regulated communications environment; pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience required.
• Strong people leadership skills, with 3+ years of experience leading or managing creative production resources preferred, including designers, production specialists, and remote or global teams.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

• Deep prepress and print-production expertise, including print specifications, color spaces, image resolution, font management, packaging, proofing, and vendor release requirements.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and Photoshop, as well as PowerPoint; Figma experience is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify technical, formatting, and consistency issues before deliverables reach clients or vendors.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume production, multiple priorities, and shifting deadlines while remaining calm and solutions-oriented and effectively balancing quality, speed, resources, and cost.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the confidence to provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and technical guidance.
• Proactive, continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify process gaps, recommend efficiencies, and help scale studio capabilities as the business grows.
• Experience with project-management and workflow tools; familiarity with presentation production and digital asset delivery is a plus.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $77,300.00 - $193,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
