As a Portfolio Manager, AVP, you'll help manage and grow a portfolio of Commercial Real Estate relationships by delivering thoughtful credit analysis and proactive portfolio management. You'll partner with Relationship Managers and internal teams to support sound lending decisions, manage risk, and deliver an exceptional client experience. This role offers opportunities to deepen your commercial banking expertise while building strong client and business partnerships.
Key Accountabilities- Analyze financial statements, borrower information, and market data to evaluate new and existing Commercial Real Estate loan opportunities.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive credit presentations to support sound lending decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance, loan repayment activity, and risk ratings to identify and address emerging credit concerns.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to strengthen client relationships and support portfolio growth.
- Manage annual reviews, covenant compliance, reporting requirements, and portfolio exceptions to maintain a high-quality portfolio.
- Collaborate with Credit, Operations, and other business partners to deliver timely and effective client solutions.
- Participate in loan approval discussions, client due diligence, and special projects that support business objectives.
- Represent Associated Bank in community and professional organizations to build relationships and strengthen the bank's presence.
Education & ExperienceRequired- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate lending or credit approval experience.
- Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management skills.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive, if required.
Preferred- 3+ years of experience managing complex commercial credit relationships.
- Previous sales or relationship management experience.
- Formal commercial credit training.
