SUMMARYIncumbents provide administrative and operational supervision to support and enhance the function of the Surprise City Court. Responsibilities include supervising Senior Court Clerks within Court Operations, and Compliance unit. The position requires sound judgment, complex decision-making, effective problem-solving, and strong leadership skills. Additional responsibilities include developing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining written procedures for operational processes within the assigned unit to promote consistency, accountability, efficiency, and compliance with applicable court policies and requirements. Incumbents also perform specialized collection functions and utilize computerized collection systems to manage and monitor court-related financial obligations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressively responsible clerical experience in the area of assignment, which includes a minimum of two (2) years out of four of direct supervisory or lead experience. Experience in a court or legal field desired. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience. Additional education may not be substituted for the required experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCivil Traffic Hearing Officer (CTHO) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
