DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position helps support a team that examines child safety concerns and evaluates key practices to strengthen overall system performance. As a Children, Youth, and Family Program Specialist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Team Leadership: Lead staff through daily supervision, workload planning, skill development, and performance evaluation
- Case Analysis Oversight: Guide assessments of child fatalities and near-fatalities to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Safety Review Coordination: Manage real-time assessments of high-risk cases to determine urgent safety needs and alignment with standards
- Risk Communication: Share safety concerns with leadership by outlining risks, recommended actions, and timelines
- Documentation Quality: Maintain clear review materials by writing, evaluating, and refining summaries and reports
- Systemwide Insights: Identify trends and risks across review activities to strengthen practice, policy, and resource planning

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Scheduled hours can vary depending on the needs of the regional offices.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to two days per week after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:- One year as a Children, Youth and Families Program Specialist 1; or
- Three years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth and families; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
