Salary Range: Hiring Range: $121,014.40 to $130,707.20 or negotiable, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Full Salary Range is: $121,014.40-$174,241.60

Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration or a related field.
- Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, auditing, taxation, elections and leadership experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:- Minnesota County Auditor-Treasurer experience
- MN property tax administration experience
- Election administration experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO)
- Minnesota Election Administration Certification

Duties and Essential Functions:The listed examples may not include all the duties performed by all positions in this class.
- Provides overall leadership and direction for the Auditor-Treasurer Department.
- Prepares and administers the department budget and allocates resources to ensure statutory responsibilities and organizational objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.
- Directs the administration of accounting systems, treasury functions, cash management activities, investments, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
- Advises the County Administrator, County Board, and department leaders regarding financial trends, budgetary impacts, fiscal risks, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Oversees preparation of annual financial statements, audits, and required state and federal reports and ensures compliance with governmental accounting standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Directs the administration of the county property tax system and ensures compliance with applicable Minnesota statutes and regulations.
- Oversees tax calculation, billing, collection, settlement, and distribution processes and certifies tax rates and levies for taxing jurisdictions.
- Serves as the County's Chief Election Official and directs the administration of all federal, state, county, municipal, school district, and special elections conducted within the county.
- Ensures compliance with election laws, regulations, security protocols, and reporting requirements while maintaining the integrity and transparency of the election process.
- Serves as a member of the County's leadership team and provides professional expertise and recommendations regarding fiscal policy, taxation, elections, statutory compliance, and organizational planning.
- Monitors legislative and regulatory changes affecting county operations and implements necessary procedural or policy changes.
- Represents the county in interactions with state agencies, local governments, school districts, professional organizations, auditors, financial institutions, and community stakeholders.
