About The Role

The Country Leader, Canada is accountable for leading and growing DKSH's Performance Materials business across Canada, driving commercial excellence, strategic growth, and organizational development as a senior member of both the Canada Leadership Team and the Performance Materials North America leadership structure. This role shapes DKSH's market position in Canada, delivering sustainable value for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders while ensuring full alignment with regional and global business objectives.

What You Will Deliver

  • Develop and execute the Canada growth strategy for Performance Materials, aligned with North America and global business objectives
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion across the Canadian business
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, business segments, supplier partnerships, and applicable acquisition targets
  • Lead annual strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business reviews to ensure financial performance and execution excellence
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, principals, suppliers, and industry stakeholders to strengthen DKSH's competitive position in Canada
  • Lead major commercial negotiations and strategic partnership discussions to secure long-term business growth
  • Strengthen DKSH's value proposition through technical expertise, innovation, and customer-centric solutions
  • Represent DKSH at industry events, customer engagements, and trade associations
  • Own full country profit and loss (P&L) performance and deliver agreed financial targets, including sales, gross profit, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), working capital, and cash flow objectives
  • Monitor business performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as required
  • Ensure disciplined pricing, margin management, and resource allocation across the business
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Lead succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability building to attract and retain top industry talent
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, corporate governance, and ethical standards, and promote adherence to DKSH policies, financial controls, and risk management practices
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources (HR), Regulatory, and Technical teams to optimize business performance and maintain operational excellence
  • Serve as the senior representative of the Performance Materials business in Canada, collaborating with global and regional leadership to drive strategic initiatives and support cross-border North American opportunities
  • Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced business degree is preferred
  • 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in specialty chemicals, ingredients distribution, performance materials, or related industries
  • Proven success managing a P&L and delivering commercial growth within a matrix, multinational organization
  • Strong understanding of chemical distribution, supplier management, and business-to-business (B2B) sales models
  • Demonstrated track record of leading commercial teams and developing talent, with experience in the Canadian market required and North American market experience preferred
  • Strong strategic planning and business development capabilities with the ability to balance entrepreneurial execution with corporate governance requirements
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, profitability, and resource allocation
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong leadership presence and executive communication abilities
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French is an asset
