About this role

What we're looking for:

We need a 7-10-year attorney with deep LIHTC and affordable housing transactional expertise who can independently run deals from start to finish. You should be comfortable leading deal teams, supervising associates and paralegals, and working in a highly collaborative, in-person environment. At least your last four years should be focused specifically on LIHTC/affordable housing work, with prior commercial real estate, M&A, or tax law experience also valued.

What you'll do:
  • Independently run LIHTC and affordable housing transactions end to end - acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development deals, and complex financing structures
  • Serve as a founding senior attorney in the new Buffalo office, helping shape the culture and operations of a growing team
  • Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals on active deal teams, providing day-to-day guidance and oversight
  • Draft and negotiate complex transaction documents including LPAs, operating agreements, and financing instruments
  • Work closely with Anthony (Buffalo partner) and Elior (managing partner) to support the firm's developer clients in creating and preserving affordable housing
  • Collaborate across the New York and Buffalo offices on sophisticated, multi-layered tax credit transactions
  • Participate in ongoing structured training sessions and contribute to the firm's knowledge-sharing culture

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base salary: $175,000+
  • Two-part annual bonus: guaranteed component plus performance/firm discretionary
  • Minimum 1,750 billable hours; 1,850 target for strong bonus
  • Competitive healthcare, generous 401(k) match, backup family care
  • 20 days PTO + 11 holidays
  • Firm-sponsored lunches Tuesday-Thursday
  • Travel to NYC office with flight and hotel covered
