About the RoleSprintRay is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Manager to join the Finance team. This role is responsible for managing product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.The Cost Manager will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to ensure accurate product costing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain strong financial controls. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and financial analysis, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Accounting- Partner with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve costing processes and financial reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze standard product costs and perform cost roll-ups for new and existing products.
- Monitor inventory costing and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
Financial Analysis- Prepare cost analyses, profitability reports, and margin analysis.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting product costs.
- Support pricing decisions through cost and profitability analysis.
- Develop financial models to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Inventory & Manufacturing Support- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Support inventory reconciliations and physical inventory counts.
- Monitor manufacturing performance and production costs.
- Assist with inventory reserves and excess/obsolete inventory analysis.
Budgeting & Forecasting- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes related to manufacturing and operating costs.
- Track actual performance against budget and explain key variances.
- Provide financial insights to improve cost management and operational performance.
Financial Reporting & Compliance- Prepare monthly cost reports and financial analyses for management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
- Experience with inventory accounting and standard costing.
- Experience in manufacturing, medical device, or related industries preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to all stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional partnership skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.
